About us

Back in the early 90’s, I worked in a comic book store. We sold books, games, and for some reason, paintball equipment. Working there was one of the best times of my life. When I watched the movie “Notting Hill” almost 10 years later, I was enthralled. Not because of Julia Roberts, but by the little book shop that Hugh Grant ran.

It reminded me of my time running that comic book shop, and how much I loved being surrounded by all those things that I loved. It reawakened that desire I had to one day own and run my own bookstore. In 1999, I resolved that I would one day do that. Then, Amazon happened.

Almost overnight, bookstores started closing, because of the ease of use and convenience of ordering online. Even Borders eventually shut down. I figured that idea of owning a small neighborhood bookshop was silly, and let it quietly slip away.

Lately though, that dream has been creeping back into my thoughts, especially with the way things are, and how important it’s become to be educated, and being part of a community. Anyway, I think I’m going to try to open up a small independent bookshop.
